Frederick W. Kunzinger

Virginia Beach - Frederick W. Kunzinger (Fred) of Virginia Beach passed away October 21st at the age of ninety. He is survived by Joan, his loving wife of 63 years and three children, his daughter Cathy Kunzinger Urwin (Gregory) of Doylestown, Pennsylvania, son Frederick (Jeannie) of Seabrook, Texas, and son Robert (Mary Louise) of Deltaville, Virginia as well as five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Born in Brooklyn, New York to the late Edward and Lucy Kunzinger, he was the third child. His siblings include Edward, Howard, Joan Litwin, Phyllis Kunzinger and the late Audrey Burton.

Fred was a stock broker and equity trader with Smith Barney on Wall Street, finishing his career more than twenty years ago as an executive with Scott and Stringfellow in Norfolk, Virginia. During his retirement he spent his time with his two great passions: golf and family. He was an avid sports fan and a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus.

Fred focused on his family his entire life. From building a home on Long Island to family vacations and get-togethers, he was happiest when surrounded by his siblings and children. His integrity at work, his devotion and commitment at home, and his sense of humor made Fred a role model for everyone who knew him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 12:00 PM, Tuesday, October 27th, at Star of the Sea Catholic Church. The burial will take place at Eastern Shore Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 PM at H. D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel.
